"Nonvoice" activity is winning larger share of time spent on mobile devices

Time spent performing activities on mobile devices other than talking is on track to surpass the equivalent time Americans spend on PCs this year, eMarketer projects. Mobile will account for nearly half of the time that people spend on digital devices, with nonvoice time nearly tripling in just the past two years. "The shift from desktop to mobile, whether smartphone or tablet, is happening across a variety of activities, including social networking and digital video viewing," eMarketer says.
