Race to the Top grant funds technology, staff in Calif. district

A California school district is using its $10 million Race to the Top grant to extend hours at school libraries, purchase new technology and add 33 new positions. The grant also will help Galt Joint Union Elementary School District pay for wireless Internet connections and for staff to conduct home visits for some prekindergarten students.
