SEC wins fraud case against former Goldman trader Tourre

A U.S. jury has found that former Goldman Sachs trader Fabrice Tourre committed six counts of civil securities fraud in connection with a securitized mortgage deal. It was a rare victory for the Securities and Exchange Commission, which has had a string of courtroom setbacks in mortgage-related cases. Questions have been raised about the reason the SEC focused on Tourre, a midlevel employee, rather than on a more senior executive.
