Sources: DOD could put F-35 on chopping block

If sequestration moves forward unchanged, the Pentagon could cancel the Lockheed Martin F-35 joint strike fighter jet program, sources say. While Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel did not mention such a possibility when he discussed the Pentagon's review of its spending options under the sequester, sources say eliminating the jet program has been discussed in department briefings.
