Tight glucose control does not cut MI in type 2 diabetes, study finds

Although intensive glucose control strategies may have helped limit onset and progression of albuminuria in patients with type 2 diabetes, according to a study in Diabetes Care, the approach did not improve renal function or myocardial infarction rates at four years. Researchers said their findings support earlier reports, but longer-term study is needed.
