F-18 flurpiridaz shows promise for measuring myocardial blood flow in CAD

A study in an imaging journal found that measurement of myocardial blood flow using F-18 flurpiridaz is feasible and effective in imaging of coronary artery disease, and its quick uptake and longer washout may give it important advantages over existing tracers. PET images from seven healthy subjects and eight CAD patients while at rest and during adenosine stress were acquired, and imaging flagged diseased vascular segments in CAD patients with variable levels of stenosis.
