Seattle to appeal court's rejection of racial tiebreaker

Yesterday, the Seattle School District announced it will appeal last week's federal court ruling striking down its use of race as a tiebreaker in assigning students to popular high schools. The district contends it must consider race to integrate schools located in neighborhoods which lack racial diversity.
