Astronaut successfully removes loose strips from Discovery

Discovery Astronaut Steve Robinson successfully removed two loose fiber strips from the shuttle's belly Wednesday morning. NASA engineers thought the strips could change the shuttle's aerodynamics and cause serious heat damage during the spacecraft's re-entry. The repair was unprecedented: Robinson was the first astronaut to spacewalk to a shuttle's underside and fix its heat shield during flight.
