Icons come out for Advertising Week contest kickoff

Tony the Tiger, the Pillsbury Doughboy, Cap'n Crunch and other larger-than-life advertising icons turned up in Times Square yesterday to kick off the voting for best slogan and best icon, the results of which will be announced during Advertising Week 2005, to be held in New York City from Sept. 26 to 30. Last year's contest reportedly drew 600,000 votes.
