Yahoo! to offer self-serve text ads

Yahoo! is testing a new contextual advertising service with 2,000 Web publishers as a prelude to rolling out self-serve, pay-per-click text ads to blogs and other small and medium-sized Web sites. Yahoo! promises that its service will be more user friendly than that of rival Google, with site operators able to select from a menu of advertising categories and speak with an on-call representative if there are problems with any ads.
