Opinion: Many high school seniors need greater challenges

While some top seniors pack their last year with classes for college credit, too many students slide through with little effort, writes Mary Tedrow, a National Board-certified high school English teacher. Schools would do better to treat them as the young adults they are and require service-learning, capstone classes or leadership experience.
