Siemens to explore combined PET, MRI imaging

Siemens AG is planning to explore the potential of combining MRI with PET imaging for the early diagnosis of diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, according to Walter Marzendorfer, CEO of the company's MRI unit. "MRI provides an excellent image of the brain's anatomy, while PET provides information on brain activity, on especially high resolution of up to an activity level of one molecule," Marzendorfer said.
