IOSCO offers guidance for investment in structured-finance instruments

The International Organisation of Securities Commissions released due-diligence guidance for collective investment schemes interested in structured-finance instruments. The guideline's three principles include an understanding of the instrument's underlying assets, the instrument's structure and how it aligns with the investment mandate. The IOSCO recommends that due diligence be an ongoing effort rather than a one-off event.
