State-sued bridge contractors continue to land state work

Minnesota continues to rely on two companies accused of contributing to the collapse of the Interstate 35W bridge. Engineering consultant URS Corp. and paving company Progressive Contractors have won a combined $50 million in highway and bridge contracts since the incident occurred two years ago. Meanwhile, the companies are facing lawsuits from the state and victims of bridge collapse for their alleged role in the accident.
