TV producers petition for writing awards to stay in live Emmy show

The producers of "Grey's Anatomy," "Mad Men" and a host of other television shows have joined with showrunners to oppose a decision by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences to "time-shift" writing awards from the live Emmy Awards telecast. The petition, circulated by the Writers Guild of America, West, asks the ATAS to restore the awards to "their rightful place" in the Emmycast.
