Don't let a cover letter harm your job chances

It's a good idea to send a cover letter with your résumé, but keep it simple and just introduce yourself, Perry Newman writes. "Do not try and sell yourself," he writes. "Just explain what job you are applying for, that the resume will show why you are a good fit, and ... include contact information and availability for an interview."
