Geithner commentary: "We are on a path back to growth":

The important point to be taken from economic data released last week is that two key indicators of private-sector demand, business investment and consumption, are getting stronger, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner writes in The New York Times. Even a surge in imports demonstrates increasing demand, he notes. "By taking aggressive action to fix the financial system, reduce growth in health care costs and improve education, we have put the American economy on a firmer foundation for future growth," Mr. Geithner writes.
