Interpreters boost patient satisfaction, quality care

A study found patients assigned interpreters were four times as likely to be happy with their emergency department visit compared with those who did not have language assistance. Interpreters can also boost patient safety by improving communication between patients and providers, reducing hospital lengths of stay and simplifying the discharge process, the researchers said.
