LightSquared may lease spectrum to carriers, others

The billionaire who plans to build a national wireless network to compete with telecoms has entered discussions to lease spectrum to U.S. technology companies and could provide needed bandwidth to carriers under its LightSquared venture, according to CEO Sanjiv Ahuja and analysts. Billionaire Philip Falcone's Harbinger Capital Partners hedge fund is backing the project, which bought the spectrum this year from SkyTerra Communications.
