NCA favors voluntary front-of-pack calorie labels

The NCA favors giving confectioners the option of posting calorie counts on the front of their packages rather than the creation of a nutrition rating scale, which could lead to categorizing candies as "good" and "bad." "Moderation and balance are keys to enjoying confections in a healthy diet," the NCA said. "By knowing the calorie and nutrient content of candy, consumers can decide for themselves if and how to incorporate them appropriately."
