Consumers focus more on calories than on high-fructose corn syrup

Consumers were more mindful of their calorie and fat intakes than of their intake of high-fructose corn syrup, according to a Mintel Research Consultancy survey. Experts said 37% of respondents reported that they limited calorie intake in the past six months, and 20% said they cut their fat and oil consumption, while only 4% said they checked on HFCS information.
