Moody's proposes changes to rating process for major banks

Moody's Investors Service proposed changing its rating methodology for banks that have implicit government support. "As part of our continuing efforts to enhance the quality of the data underlying our ratings, we are considering requiring that support providers have either a public or private monitored rating from Moody's," the credit rating agency said.
