Senators postpone confirmation hearing for Cordray

The Senate banking committee had scheduled a hearing for today to discuss the nomination of Richard Cordray as director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The hearing, however, has been postponed until Sept. 6 because senators left Washington, D.C., for an August recess.
