Small businesses do most of U.S. hiring, survey finds

Hiring in the U.S. is heavily concentrated at small companies, according to a survey by payroll-services firm ADP. In July, businesses with fewer than 50 employees added 58,000 positions, while companies with 50 to 500 employees added 47,000 workers. Companies with more than 500 employees hired 9,000 workers.
