Federal budget cuts affect expansion of NAEP assessments

Sequestration has resulted in changes to the 2014 National Assessment of Educational Progress in the wake of a 5% reduction to the program's overall $138.3 million fiscal 2013 budget, education report Sarah D. Sparks writes in this blog post. The National Assessment Governing Board voted recently to, among other things, scale back on some tests and reduce how many students per grade, per state will be tested on some exams.
