EIA: Gas production in Lower 48 rose in May

The Lower 48 states saw a 1.2% increase in natural gas output in May, hitting 78.1 billion cubic feet per day, up from 77.18 billion cubic feet per day in April, according to an Energy Information Administration report. Driven by additional wells drilled in the Marcellus and Utica Shale plays, output from the "Other States" category rose 2.6% to 30.42 billion cubic feet per day in the same period, the agency said.
