Method zeroes in on liver pathology before fibrosis, study finds

In patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, new research suggests contrast-enhanced ultrasound combined with FibroScan helps measure functional vascular liver changes. The combination is the only noninvasive method that reveals such changes before fibrosis occurs, according to researchers. It could prove useful in monitoring the conditions as well.
