Study: Consistent 401(k) saving brought strong returns amid recession

People who contributed steadily to a 401(k) account from the end of 2007 through the conclusion of 2012 saw their accounts grow at a rate of 6.8% per year, according to a study from the Investment Company Institute and the Employee Benefit Research Institute.
