Report: WTO sugar ruling favors Brazil

A confidential World Trade Organization ruling issued today in a complaint brought by Brazil, Australia and Thailand may mean more bad news for EU sugar producers, reports say. An EU spokesman declined to comment on the reports, but Brazil's ambassador to the WTO said, "You can say the Brazilian ambassador said he was satisfied." The complaint alleged the EU's sugar program illegally aided domestic producers and distorted world prices.
