A New York nutritionist explains the differences between Equal, Splenda and Sweet'N Low, noting they are all significantly sweeter than sugar. While all three have been declared safe to consume by the FDA, some people may be allergic to certain chemicals, and the small portion of the population that suffers from phenylketonuria are advised not to ingest aspartame.
