Poll: Public not polarized over cultural controversies

The public has not "polarized into liberal and conservative camps" despite so-called "culture wars" over issues like gay marriage, according to a Pew Research Center Poll. Of those polled, 56% were against gay marriage, but 53% were in favor of legal agreements for gays that would allow many of the same rights given to married couples.
