CMS releases final rules on IPPS

The CMS has issued its final rule on the acute-care in-patient prospective payment system after considering various proposals, including burden of proof and per-click leasing arrangements. The rule provides for additional incentives for hospitals to improve their quality of care to Medicare patients, as well as payments for efforts aimed at reducing "never events" in hospitals.
