Just 12 miles long, Kansas City light rail could cost $727M

Kansas City's proposed 12-mile, $727 million light rail starter line would be one of the most expensive, complex construction projects ever undertaken in the area. In addition to relocating miles of underground infrastructure, engineers will have to build a new bridge over the Missouri River, construct another new bridge over a smaller creek and replace three additional spans.
