Tax treaty could increase Kuwaiti investment in Japan

Kuwait's finance minister said the country's sovereign-wealth fund may double or triple its investment in Japan once a reciprocal tax treaty is concluded. The fund could pump as much as US$48 billion into Japan following the deal preventing companies and individuals from being taxed by both countries, Kuwait's Mustafa Al-Shimali said.
