HIPAA security enforcement moves from CMS to Civil Rights Office

The HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced that the Office for Civil Rights is taking over responsibilities in enforcing security clauses in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. Authority over the the provisions will be incorporated with the enforcement of HIPAA privacy laws, Sebelius stated in a report.
