Self-directed learning excites students

Students participating in a summer program for gifted children in Illinois were divided into small groups to learn about everything from robotics to filmmaking. "See how excited they are about learning?" said program director Jon C. Neidy. "That's how every class should be. They're learning what they want to know, and the teacher is connecting it to things they already know."
