Technology connects teachers, students outside classrooms

Teachers are using technology to engage students in classroom lessons and also are using the resources to connect with students outside of school. E-mail, text messaging and blogging allow teachers to contact students during nonschool hours. A Colorado teacher says she finds that students are better prepared when she e-mails information about assignments over the summer.
