ACE's Jennings: Lawmakers may trim tax incentive for ethanol

Congress might not approve a five-year extension of the 45-cent-per-gallon tax credit for ethanol blenders, so a group of lawmakers is considering other plans, such as trimming the incentive to 36 cents per gallon, according to Brian Jennings, executive vice president of the American Coalition for Ethanol. "Optimistically, I look at that as our floor, and we'll try to improve upon that as the process moves its way through Congress," Jennings told attendees at the annual Ethanol Conference and Trade Show in Kansas City, Mo.
