FAA reauthorization bill impacts general aviation pilots

The Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization bill requires all airline pilots, including first officers, to have the airline transport pilot certificate. Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association spokesman Chris Dancy said general aviation pilots training for Part 121 careers will be affected by the bill. "It will obviously mean more time as a flight instructor or a freight dog, or any of the other ways future airline pilots build time," Dancy said.
