India's textile companies invest in retail at home

A growing number of international textile manufacturers in India are adding significant retail components in their home country to capitalise on increased spending power there and hedge against softening textile sales in other parts of the world. Mandhana Industries, a supplier to global design brands such as Tommy Hilfiger and French Connection, plans to launch a retail division and Royal Classic Group plans to open 100 stores by the end of next year.
