Leap takes a strategic turn

Leap Wireless took a little leap of its own Tuesday in making broad changes to its prepaid packages and adding smartphones to its inventory as the company reported a decrease in net subscribers in the second quarter. The change in strategy represents Leap's effort to pursue more high-end customers as it expanded its top-priced tiers and announced a reseller deal with Sprint Nextel to market its Cricket-brand service outside Leap's territory.
