Physician assistants may soon receive Medicaid incentives

The American Academy of Physician Assistants expressed support for the proposed Health IT Modernization for Underserved Communities Act, which aims to make physician assistants eligible to receive Medicaid incentive payments for using electronic health records regardless of their clinical settings. The proposal was pitched this week by Reps. Karen Bass, D-Calif., and Lee Terry, R-Neb.
