Program helps students with special needs find career paths

The Strategic Actions and Innovations for Learning program at Ridgewood High School in New Jersey arranges community internships for students with special needs. The professional placements are designed to teach students valuable workplace skills and raise awareness about their capabilities among potential employers. "We teach interview techniques, we teach how to act in the workplace, how to greet people, task completion exercises -- the basic fundamental survival skills you need out in the real world," school principal Jack Lorenz said.
