Survey: More people can ID functional food and benefits

A survey of adults found about nine of 10 were able to name a functional food and list its health benefits, according to the International Food Information Council. About one-third said they have made dietary changes because of a health condition and more said they are doing so to improve their well-being, an official from the council said; reasons given for not eating healthier food include cost, availability and taste.
