Tips to help teachers stay sane

While it is a challenging time to be a teacher, it remains a rewarding and noble profession, says Dina Strasser, a member of the Teacher Leaders Network. In this column, Strasser offers advice to a pre-service teacher and suggests four mental tools to help all teachers stay sane. She recommends that teachers maintain their own meaningful student achievement data, learn to do well in any teaching position, find strength in friends who are teachers and maintain a work-life balance.
