Troubled housing market is connected to the woes of small business

Persistent troubles in the housing market continue to make life tough on small businesses because many owners borrow against their homes to fund their businesses. Furthermore, one-sixth of private employers are in housing-related industries, which have suffered from perpetually low housing prices. Sales for specialty contractors such as roofers have declined every year since 2007, according to financial-software-maker Sageworks.
