White House officials, including Chief of Staff William Daley and senior adviser Valerie Jarrett, called bank executives for advice and support during the debt-ceiling debate, sources told the Wall Street Journal. "Wall Street and the administration working together, in the context of the last two years, is a little unusual," says Eugene Ludwig, chief executive of Promontory Financial Group.
