BLM to review fracking, other drilling projects in Calif.

The Bureau of Land Management will thoroughly assess hydraulic fracturing and other drilling projects in California. The move follows a federal court ruling that the agency violated environmental law via the selling of drilling rights on 2,500 acres in Monterey County, Calif. The results of the review could lead to tougher rules on those leases, BLM said.
