Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper defended the job figures associated with TransCanada's Keystone XL pipeline. This follows President Barack Obama's remarks that the project would generate far fewer jobs than the U.S. State Department's estimate of 42,100. "[F]irst of all, our No. 1 priority in Canada is the creation of jobs, and clearly this is a project that will create jobs on both sides of the border," Harper said.
