Cordray: CFPB's complaint database garners quick responses from companies

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Director Richard Cordray says financial companies are responding quickly when contacted by the agency about consumer complaints in its database because they know the database is "backed by potential supervision and enforcement authority." The CFPB has about 150 employees working on complaints, and that number is expected to increase by about 30 soon, Cordray says. In this interview, Cordray also discusses student loans and borrowers' repayment challenges.
